Mr. Puri is the founder, President and CEO of the Alliance for US India Business (AUSIB). AUSIB is dedicated to strengthening economic ties between the US and India. Through his leadership at AUSIB, he formed a US Congressional Taskforce on US-India Investment and Trade Relations. Under his leadership, AUSIB has led over 25 delegations of business, political and higher education leaders to India. He has also hosted two of the largest US India education conclaves in 2011 and 2013 that were attended by over 100 education and policy leaders from the U.S. and over 1,000 senior educators and policy leaders from India. Recently, Mr. Puri organized key political and corporate meetings for PM Narendra Modi’s visit to the US.

Sanjay Puri is a recognized authority on US-India relations. He also serves as the Chairman of the US-India Political Action Committee (USINPAC), a national, bipartisan political action committee representing over 3.2 million Indian-Americans. USINPAC works closely with members of Congress from both sides of the aisle, as well as with the administration, to ensure that the community’s concerns are addressed. Through Mr. Puri’s leadership, USINPAC played a key role in the passage of the US India Civil Nuclear Agreement, which involved galvanizing the Indian American community to work with the US Congress. Mr. Puri has also hosted Congressional briefings on US India Counterterrorism Cooperation, the first ever conference on US-India Renewable Energy on Capitol Hill, HIV AIDS Cooperation between the US and India, as well as several initiatives on immigration. His most recent initiative is facilitating a long-running series of webcasts entitled, “Indian Diaspora Leadership Dialogues” focusing on the recent elections in India and US India relations and issues of interest to the far-reaching Indian-American Community.

He is a frequent public speaker on US-India relations and the political impact of the Indian-American community. He has been featured in The New York Times, The Washington Times, on National Public Radio (NPR), the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), CNN and Nightline. Mr. Puri recently received a Lifetime Award for Education from the prestigious DY Patil University in India for initiating numerous successful US/India joint efforts for the advancement of higher education.

Mr. Puri was the Founder and Chairman of Optimos Incorporated, a highly successful strategy and enterprise information technology company that he recently sold. The company was founded in 1994 through a grant from NIH and provided valuable solutions to a range of clients including the Library of Congress, Federal Reserve Bank, National Archives and Records Administration, U.S. Mint, and the National Labor Relations Board.

Dr Surabhi Garg Ausib
Surabhi Garg is responsibe for the organization's member development for the Small and Medium Enterprises. Dr. Garg is also the key liaison to the Indian American business community. Dr. Garg has over fifteen years of business management and analysis experience. She has nearly 10 years of experience in the biotechnology industry, clinical research, and analysis of biotechnology markets. She is the author of 20 peer-reviewed articles and 13 abstracts presented at national and international conferences. Her areas of expertise include immunology, molecular biology, molecular epidemiology, microbiology, clinical diagnostics, and human physiology.

Dr. Garg holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and a Master of Science in anatomy and physiology from the University of Calcutta, India. She has conducted post-doctoral studies at the International Medical Center of Japan, Tokyo.

Dr. Garg is part of the leadership that founded and continues to serve the US India Political Action Committee (USINPAC).

Ms. Kapoor has more than ten years of successful management experience. She has successfully implemented creative media campaigns utilizing strategic partnerships, and securing trade and business deals. Ms. Kapoor has also designed and executed marketing and brand building campaigns for films and brands in the US. She has a strong global background in international entertainment, international business consulting, public relations, brand management and marketing exposure with a proven track record of entertainment marketing. Ms. Kapoor experience is extensive and diverse– from new start up to successful strategic alliances with the major production houses in US and India . She has been recently quoted in The Hollywood Reporter and Variety.

She is also the co founder of the Alliance for US India Business(AUSIB) and US India Political Action Committee (USINPAC), a national, bipartisan political action committee representing over 2 million Indian Americans.

Manohar Thyagaraj is a Director at the Alliance for US India Business. He has been a consultant to U.S. and Indian defense and aerospace companies in the development of business opportunities in the defense and homeland security spaces. Specifically, he has advised large U.S. defense companies on entry into the Indian market and has developed sourcing arrangements for the procurement of components from India by the U.S. aerospace industry. He has been published in journals such as the USAF Air and Space Power Journal and ORBIS. He is a member of the International Institute for Strategic Studies.

Rahul Raisurana has 23 years of senior and leadership level professional financial services experience across Asia and USA with leading global organizations. In his professional career, Rahul has acquired strong cross product and diversified industry expertise as also built a solid track record in creating and building successful financial services businesses from scratch.

Most recently, as part of a contract assignment undertaken by him as a Managing Director and India lead for Moody’s Investors Service, he successfully assisted Moody’s in its cross border buyout and takeover of ICRA.

Till January 2014, Rahul was Managing Director of Standard Chartered Private Equity (SCPE) wherein he founded an India focused mid market private equity business, which under his leadership, was recognized in the PE ecosystem as one of the most successful and active PE business in India; SCPE was also awarded as “Best Private Equity Investor 2012” by Venture Intelligence. Prior to joining Standard Chartered, he co-founded and led India Infrastructure Fund (IIF), India’s first infrastructure fund focused on investments at the project / SPV level (fund was co-sponsored by IDFC and Citigroup). He was previously also Country Head for Credit and Risk Management at Deutsche Bank (DB) wherein he led the entire sanctioning and credit-risk function of the bank in India. At DB, he also held several global leadership positions including as a voting member of DB’s Global Credit Policy Committee, member of several Asia level committees and was also part of Deutsche Bank’s India Board and Executive Management team. Additionally, Rahul was a member of the Core Group set up by all Foreign Banks operating in India to represent them in finalizing the Corporate Debt Restructuring laws and framework with the Reserve Bank of India.

He has also worked in New York for nearly 4 years with Moody’s as the Corporate Finance Product Specialist for the North America region wherein amongst various responsibilities he led a focused strategic effort for new ratings product development. Rahul started his professional career with Citibank where he spent nearly 7 years across various roles in Corporate and Investment banking as also in Transaction banking.
