India stands a good chance in becoming the top destination for the study and application of the science of Pathology as more delegates from USA are visiting the country for groundbreaking conferences where academicians, health officers, ministers and students share their views. With increasing number of students taking up courses in Pathology ranging from Forensics to clinical specialization, India now ranks among the best places to invest in a Pathology Research Centre. The outbreak of Ebola, has turned the world’s head towards India, considering the kind of resistance the country has showcased in keeping the deadly disease out of its civilian boundaries.

The clinical pathology among humans derives most of its references from the avian pathology and the veterinary pathology. Apart from the development of the Human Pathology, it is important to focus on Avian and Veterinary Pathology as well. Pathological sciences to study the diseases in pests, fishes and insects will certainly help in coping with the epidemics borne by these agents. Prevention is better than cure remains the key objective. A recognized degree in Pathology can draw new career aspirations for students who can join Army, Navy and public health centers as Pathologists. With the aid of US-based delegation, the institutions can also plan and build world-class Pathology Laboratory and Research Institute in India. The idea is to bring the best Health Care services to the millions of Indians, who require timely diagnosis and intervention.

Pathology is the casual study of diseases and makes up for a major part of the modern medicines and diagnosis segment. As a separate identity, pathology developed around the 19th century. It covers the symptoms and the functional anomalies caused by the factors associated with a particular disease. It involves the comprehensive inspection of the:

  • Organs
  • Body fluids
  • Wastes
  • Tissues

The general categories of Medical pathology branches into an array of specialized fields. They are broadly classified as

  1. Anatomical Pathology
  2. Clinical Pathology

AUSIB has been effectively vouching for initiatives from the private and public establishments in India and USA to inspire students in pursuing degrees in Medicine and Pathology.
