IIM Alumni from all over the US converged at the Coyote Point Yacht Club here to participate in the Pinnacle 2012 Conference hosted by the Indian Institutes of Management USA, whose theme this year was “Transformational Leadership in a New World Order.”
“We want the world to know we’re here, we’re vibrant, and we will make a difference,” said Ashima Jain, president of IIM USA, as she kicked off the conference.
IIM USA is the umbrella alumni organization of the 13 Indian Institutes of Management representing more than 6,000 alumni based in the Americas. The mission of IIM USA is to promote and enhance the IIM brand in the Americas, provide a forum for networking and serve as a platform for professional development and thought leadership.
It has active chapters in Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, New Jersey, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto, and Washington, DC.
The event also featured a panel of entrepreneurs who provided ample advice from their years of experience in their fields of expertise.
The panel included Sakina Arsiwala and Naveen Koorakula, founders of Campfire Labs that was acquired by Groupon in December; Ranjana Clark, senior vice president and chief customer & marketing officer for PayPal; and Krishna “Kittu” Kolluri, general partner of NEA.
