It is a pleasure meeting with you to announce the coming Indo-US Education Colloquium in February 2013. This year we (Alliance for US India Business) have partnered with AISSMS to host an education summit that provides a unique platform for stakeholders in the growth of US-India higher education collaboration to deliberate and strategize the future steps to improve bilateral cooperation in this sector. Academicians, educationists, policy makers, senior officials, University Deans, Presidents, Vice Presidents, Provosts and corporate from US and India will meet and particularly focus on issues before us in the fields of Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering and Science along with other aspects of the education industry. The focus will of this conclave will be to ensure quality and affordable education to every Indian and American.
The way education is imparted is changing dramatically, today a student in Latur with a broad band connection can access the most advanced courses at Harvard University without getting a US Visa. How can higher education collaboration between the US and India take advantage of the upcoming revolution in education to improve the life of every Indian and American? These deliberations between academicians and policymakers that will help lay the foundations of a successful partnership. We have invited senior academicians and policy/decision-makers from the US to be part of this deliberation process and help define the direction of the US-India education partnership.
Last year, AUSIB launched its focused higher education initiative 'AUSIB EduNext'. A specialized arm of AUSIB, it will help universities and educational institutions consolidate the progress made during their meetings at the Colloquium and help them achieve intended
results. AUSIB EduNext’s expert team has been actively doing that for the University participants from last year's successful Indo-US Education Conclave.
We are also working with other educational institutions and stakeholders in the education sector in both countries as we believe that educational collaboration between India and the US can define educational standards for a global audience. In keeping with line with our mission to promote educational excellence, we have collaborated with several States in the US who are looking to fill the severe shortage of math/science teacher by hiring these K12 teachers from India for its schools. It is this kind of grassroot exchange of teachers and students that will help generate a unique educational culture that fuses the best of both countries.
Partnering with AISSMS has been a wonderful experience and I would like to thank Capt. Mahadkar for his cooperation and enthusiasm in organizing this event. We are confident that the colloquium will be great success.
On behalf of both AUSIB and AISSMS I invite you to the event in February.
